I am a 20 year old college student attending St. Mary’s College of Maryland and studying Political Science.

Politics is definitely my passion. In fact, I run a blog focused on politics. However, I have found a close second in web design. Maybe it’s sitting back and admiring a job well done or maybe it’s watching the stats go up on a well optimized site, either way I cannot help but get each of my designs just right.

I found web design in a rather unusual way. After high school I was offered a year long fellowship with the Jane Goodall Institute before college. During that time I traveled around the world speaking to young people about the Jane Goodall Institute’s programs and as an outreach tool I kept a blog, which still continues today as the JGI R&S Fellow’s Blog.

Since the Jane Goodall Institute is a large international non profit, it was important that any site or blog with associated with the organization fit into the branding. Although at the time I had no idea what HTML stood for let alone how to change the look of a web site, I was determined to change the design of this blog.

After hours of online tutorials and trial and error, I finally managed to apply custom CSS to my WordPress.com blog so that it fit into the Jane Goodall Institute’s branding. After that, I was hooked. It was not long until I had my own personal blog going and then the first site I completely designed.
